Nissan Altima, Nissan Murano, Nissan Rogue, Infiniti Recall

Early warning notice.

Nissan is recalling just over 204,000 2007 and 2008 vehicles due to passenger side airbag dangers, according to federal safety investigators at NHTSA, the government agency in charge of motor vehicle safety recalls.

The recall covers this vehicles:

2007 Nissan Altima
2008 Nissan Altima
2007 Nissan Altima Coupe
2008 Nissan Altima Coupe
2007 Nissan 350Z
2008 Nissan 350Z
2007 Nissan Murano
2008 Nissan Murano
2007 Nissan Rogue
2008 Nissan Rogue
2007 Infiniti G35 sedan
2008 Infiniti G35 sedan
2007 Infiniti G37 coupe
2008 Infiniti G37 coupe
2007 Infiniti EX35
2008 Infiniti EX35

The recalled vehicles appear to have been built between March 12, 2007 and May 27, 2008, according to published recall information.

Apparently the airbag investigation that resulted in the recall actually began in November 2007 after Nissan started receiving several warranty reports of airbag warning lamps flashing. Turns out that the airbag might fail to receive a proper electrical signal and warn the driver of a malfunction.

Nissan reports that Continental Automotive Systems supplied it with the components that are related to the recall issues.
